Women in Engineering Holiday Camp Study
This longitudinal study aims to understand the decision-making process of self-identifying females aged 16-18 when choosing whether or not to study engineering. It also seeks to examine the factors that influence this process as they relate to self-determination, self-efficacy and social capital.
This project will utilise data collected over 3 consecutive years from women students aged 16-18 who participate in the Holiday Camp at the Faculty of Engineering from 2023-2025.
Our goal is to construct a comprehensive understanding of the decision-making processes among women school students and identify any actions the Faculty can take that could positively influence their decisions when there is uncertainty about pursuing Engineering. We hope to gain deeper insight into potential solutions that can support diversity and foster inclusivity within the field of engineering.
